The creators of Cloverfield went to Japan and saw Godzilla action figures everywhere so they thought of making an American Godzilla and Cloverfield was it. So if they made a Godzilla video game doesn't that mean they are making a Cloverfield video game?
They might and they might not, a sequel is currently being planned which might serve to explain the origins of the monster or finish up the story (i am just guessing).
So if the story does have a concrete beginning and an end, i don't see
