Actually, you probably can. www.lifelites.com has lights compatible with Lego Power Functions. They also have lighting you can add to non Power Functions creations.

I don't have actual experience with this, but...

My son has a lego type toy at his kinder which is put together (and taken apart) by him with a small plastic screwdriver. The one at kinder has excavator


is it erector? i've seen those around and i'm pretty sure it's called erector.
