Bermuda triangle: There is a pull-in force in this area. Does a pull-out exist at axial opposite of this area?
[2006-04-24 11:44:12]

Q: The force that causes the pull-in the triangle is reported as a natural phenomenon that is not clearly understood. I wonder if there is another breakout force to

A: The Bermuda Triangle (also known as Devil's Triangle) is almost half a million square miles (1.2 million km2) area of ocean roughly defined by Bermuda, Puerto Rico, and the tip southern Florida.

wind turbine size/type?

Axial Wraith & HPI Savage

am trying to build a wind turbine that is capable of running an entire house from heating to tv however the location of that wind turbine is in a low wind speed area approx 5 miles per hour ,,,,my question is how many blades are preferable for low wind

for DIY, first task is to calculate how much energy you use on a daily basis, both peak and average.

Second task it to measure the average wind on an hourly basis.

Two decisions: 1. grid tie or lots of batteries. 2. If not

What is the average cost to have something made in a machine shop using a CNC machine (PLEASE READ DETAILS)?

Nehemias and cast axial flux windmill stator (Otherpower design)

I am considering building a small axial flux alternator, i will need to have some parts custom made, example i need two 8" steel disks with a center hole for the bearing and 4 holes for mounting, and a hub disk to attach the blades at 120 degrees

Probably more than $2.

Question about permanent magnet alternators?
[2009-12-13 01:40:27]

This question is particularly about axial flux alternators with two magnet rotors across from each other with the stator in the middle.

If there is no iron or any other magnetic material in the stator, will that result in zero cogging?

I am not sure of this answer, but it seems to me there is no cogging when there is no load (so no field reacting against rotation). Under load there would be cogging, but it probably matters little at higher speeds because the inertia takes over. I see
