Axial Fans
What is the difference between Axial fan and centrifugal fan?
[2009-09-28 02:02:32]

Q: Describe the mechanical point of view. What are the uses of these fans in ventilation systems?

A: Axial fans have blades that force air to move parallel to the shaft around which the blades rotate. Axial fans blow air through the fan axis
It is widely used in ventilation systems! It blows more air volume at low pressure!

Could I run my 115v 60hz axial fan directly off of a standard 120v wall socket?

I have an EBM thermally protected axial fan that runs at 115v 60hz. Could i hook this up to a standard US 120v wall socket with no elevated risk of fire during continuous use?

Yes, how else can you run it? That's what it is made to do.

What is the Static Loss of 2 Axial Fans Connected Series With Only 1 In Operation?

Large-Centrifugal-Fan-for-Industrial-Mining-Paper-Mill

Dear Sir / Ms,

I am currently working on a project and need some information on an issue which I am facing.

I have 2 smoke extract fans connected in series. At any one time, only one fan is in operation while the other

If the fans are rated around 1" WC I would not be concerned. Once either secondary fan is up to speed it will not cause much loss, but without a reference to a test, I cannot predict what that loss would be. I do not know if AMCA would have anything
